P.K. Saenchai Muay Thai Gym (also written PK Saenchai or P.K. Saenchai Muaythaigym) is a large, established professional Muay Thai camp in Bangkok known for technical excellence, high-volume pad work, and a strong roster of stadium and international fighters.
It is a working fighter gym that prioritizes its Thai professionals while accepting students of all levels, including foreigners. It has a reputation for serious, self-motivated training rather than a tourist-oriented or fitness-class atmosphere.
Location
The PK Saenchai is located in the Bang Kho Laem district of Bangkok, Thailand.
The exact address is 3713, 31 Trok Nok Khet Alley, Bang Khlo, Bang Kho Laem, Bangkok 10120. The gym is tucked away in a quiet local area just off Charoen Rat Road, approximately a 10-15 minute drive from Central Rama III.
Best way to get there: Grab or Bolt is the default. From Sukhumvit it is often about 100–150 THB, more in rush hour. Taxi works if the driver knows Rama 3 / Central Rama III; showing the Google Maps pin is safer than saying the soi name.
PK Saenchai Ownership and Management
The gym is owned by Somchai “Sia Kaek” (Sia Kak / Sia Khaek) Tedrungruang. His son Game handles much of the day-to-day operations and is the main English-speaking contact for foreign visitors.
Note on Saenchai: The gym name comes from a past association with Saenchai (legendry Muay Thai fighter, look up a highlight video if you’re unfamiliar with his work).
Saenchai is no longer associated with this gym. He currently operates his own gym called Saenchai Deena Gym. P.K – which is located near the BKK airport.
PK Saenchai operates independently, and although you’re unlikely to see Saenchai here, there’s still an impressive roster of fighters who are still training at the gym.
Fighters at PK Saenchai Gym
The gym maintains a sizable professional roster (often around 40 fighters). A few standouts include:
- Tawanchai P.K. Saenchai: Former ONE FC Featherweight World Champion, Lumpinee Stadium Fighter of the Year (2018), Thailand Featherweight Champion.
- Prajanchai P.K. Saenchai: Former ONE FC Strawweight Kickboxing World Champion, 2x Lumpinee Stadium Champion, 3x Rajadamnern Stadium Champion.
- Muangthai P.K. Saenchai: Lumpinee Stadium Lightweight Champion, Rajadamnern Stadium Super Flyweight Champion, WMC World Champion, Yokkao -65kg Champion, Thailand Muay Thai Champion
- Pakorn P.K. Saenchai: Lumpinee Stadium Super Featherweight Champion, Channel 7 Stadium Champion, Thailand Super Featherweight Champion
- Kulabdam PK Saenchai: Recently signed to the camp (formerly Sor.PiaUthai). 2x Lumpinee Stadium World Champion, Sports Writers Association of Thailand Fighter of the Year (2017).
- Pongsiri PK Saenchai: 4x Muay Thai World Champion, including the Lumpinee Stadium Welterweight Title, Omnoi Stadium Title, and WPMF World Title.
- Wanchalong PK Saenchai: Hasn’t fought since 2022, but is a multiple time Lumpinee and Channel 7 stadium champion who has won several “fight of the year” awards.
- Chanajon PK Saenchai: Rajadamnern Stadium Middleweight Champion, Isuzu Cup Tournament Champion
Anyway, you get the idea. There are several fighters I didn’t even mention. It’s an extremely talent-rich gym as they’re known for acquiring highly skilled fighters from throughout the country.
Training Routine
The training routine at PK Saenchai is intense, but more casual and self guided than many other gyms which micro-manage your activity.
At PK Saenchai, they do not run organized group classes. Instead, you show up, warm up independently, and work one-on-one with a personal trainer assigned to you for the session.
The daily routine is split into two distinct sessions..
Morning Session (Approx. 6:00 AM – 9:00 AM)
The morning is heavily focused on roadwork, conditioning, and strength training rather than technical Muay Thai sparring.
- The Run: Active fighters and serious trainers take a short motorbike ride to a nearby park around 6:00 AM for a 45-to-60-minute long-distance run.
- After returning to the gym, you move into bag work focusing on repetitive knees, teeps, and kicks.
- Strength & Conditioning: PK Saenchai is progressive for a Thai gym and employs a full-time strength coach. Mornings wrap up with heavy weightlifting, bodyweight circuits, and core training.
Note: Pad work is rare in the morning unless you are actively preparing for an upcoming fight.
Afternoon Session (Approx. 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM)
This is where the bulk of the hard Muay Thai training and action happens. You can generally drop in anytime between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
- Warm-up: A 20-to-30-minute run on the treadmill or outside, followed by skipping rope and independent shadow boxing.
- Pad Work: The main event. You will be called into the ring for 5 to 7 intense, 4-minute rounds on the pads with a trainer. The trainers here push hard—expect heavy volume and exhausting kicking drills.
- Bag Work: After pads, you immediately hit the heavy bags.
- Clinching & Sparring: Self explanatory. The sparring takes place a few times a week and technique is emphasized rather than power.
- Burnout Conditioning: Every session finishes with mandatory conditioning, including hundreds of sit-ups, push-ups, and bag burnouts.
What to Expect as a Visitor
- All Levels Welcome: While they train elite fighters, they welcome hobbyists and beginners. However, because the gym is self-paced, what you get out of it depends entirely on your initiative. If you push hard, the trainers will match your energy and teach you advanced technique.
- Pricing: A single drop-in session currently costs ฿500. Private sessions can be had for ฿1600
Accommodation
They have on-site accommodation which they charge 500 baht per night for. There are also off-site accommodation options available in the area.
Of course, prices are subject to change, so be sure to contact them via Instagram to confirm. Here’s a list of their current pricing for both rooms and training.
