The Jor. Aphichat Muay Thai gym was opened in 2022 by Kru Diesel. It’s an authentic, family-run camp situated in rural Sing Buri province.
At the time of this writing, I have yet to personally visit the gym, but I have a good idea what the training quality is like because Kru Diesel was my primary trainer for a few years when I was training at the FA Group gym in Bangkok from 2012-2015.
Training with Kru Diesel was an absolute pleasure! I have trained at dozens of gyms with dozens of trainers, and Diesel is perhaps my favorite trainer in all of Thailand.
I was planning on visiting the Jor. Aphichat Muay Thai gym during my last trip, but a motorbike crash and a broken hand lead to an unforeseen change of plans. Hopefully I have the opportunity to go there on my next trip.
Jor. Aphichat Muay Thai Gym Location
The gym is in a quiet, rural countryside setting in Sing Buri Province (roughly 2 hours north of Bangkok by road). The specific area is Moo 1, Ban Tan Diao Tai, Thong En Subdistrict, In Buri District, Sing Buri Province.
It sits near rice fields in a peaceful environment with limited immediate distractions or amenities (primarily a nearby 7-Eleven). The town of Sing Buri is a short drive away. Nearby cultural sites include Ban Khu Mueang Ancient City (about 13–14 km), In Buri/Ban Rai markets, and Wat Sai ruins.
To get there, you can contact the gym to arrange a ride. You can also take a taxi (Grab or meter taxi from Bangkok), or you can take a bus to the Sing Buri bus terminal, then get a taxi to the gym from there (it’s approximately 30 minutes away).
Trainers and Fighters at Jor. Aphichat Muay Thai Gym
As mentioned above, Kru Diesel used to work at the FA Group Gym in Bangkok, and it was there where he trained and guided Petchboonchu to become the most decorated fighter in the history of the sport.
Petchboonchu won 14 major championship belts across 5 weight divisions, and his success was due to a mastery of the clinch (Muay Khao) fighting style that Diesel is an expert in.
In addition to Petchboonchu, Kru Diesel also played a major role in molding the fighting style of Yothin, who has won WMC, WBC, Rajadamnern and Thailand national titles.
Petchboonchu retired in 2015, but Yothin is still competing at the time of this writing.
Yothin will periodically drop into the Jor. Aphichat gym to train with Diesel, but he spends most of his time training at FA Group.
There are other fighters at the gym who compete, one such fighter being Petchkwanta, who recently won her fight at Lumpinee stadium.
Many of the foreigners who stop in to train here learned from Diesel during his time at FA group. Jor. Apichat Muay Thai gym is also a popular choice for people who want to improve their clinching.
It’s a small gym, but there are other trainers working there as well. I will update this section with info on them when I finally get the opportunity to visit and check it out for myself.
Training Info and Prices
Training runs Monday–Saturday (closed Sundays). A traditional fighter-oriented routine is followed and adapted by level:
- Roadwork/running: around 07:00 (often 8–10 km).
- Morning session: typically 08:00–10:00 (sometimes listed extending toward 11:00).
- Afternoon session: typically 15:00–17:00 or 15:00–18:00 (3:00–6:00 p.m.).
Sessions commonly include jump rope/skipping, extensive clinching, pad work (multiple rounds), technique drills, bag work, sparring (as available), and conditioning. Emphasis is on classic Muay Thai methods rather than fitness-class formats. All levels are accommodated, with beginners taught from fundamentals.
As for the pricing, it really depends what you want. They offer an all-inclusive packages consisting of training, food and on-site accommodation.

They offer private lessons, as well as group training.
I would suggest just sending a message to the gym via their Instagram page to get an updated price list because the rates are likely to change with time.
